‘Ghost Of Black Monk Of Pontefract’ Pictured In Mirror At Home Of Britain’s Most Violent Poltergeist Haunting | Huffington Post

Oh… here is another image of the same Black Monk spectre, from the same house… in the same location.  The difference here is that the image is ONLY within the mirror.

Again, where is the professional set-up for the ‘ghost hunters’?  If you captured this, you would immediately return and attempt a recreation with multiple cameras, angled so as to verify that there is nobody around the corner or on the stairs that is providing the reflection.  With such a lack of evidence of what is around that corner, we could be looking at the reflection of a wallpaper pattern or an old picture.

For what it is worth, this is merely the distorted reflection of the wallpaper pattern, subject to a fractal refraction of the light from the flash as it enters, exits and re-enters the mirror – from flash, to mirror, to subject, to mirror and back to the flash.  The term for the interpretation is pareidolia and such explains why it is ghost hunters who see these things in cases such as this, merely adding to their perception through the lack of poor further investigation.

Is this the ghoul that dragged a 12-year-old girl upstairs by her throat?
